ABOUT ME
Greetings! My name is Beatrice Joannis. I am originally from Queens, NY and I have lived in Raleigh, NC since 2020. I received my master’s degree in clinical social work (MSW) from Fordham University and have been practicing as a therapist since. I hold both a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSW-A) and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate (LCAS-A) from the State of North Carolina. I am fluent in English and French.
EXPERTISE
In my clinical practice, I work with clients that range in age from 18 to 65 but open to see clients that are under 18 as well. I have experienced working with both men, women, and LGBTQIA+ population to address a variety of concerns such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, anger, grief and loss, substance use or abuse, life & career transitions, family conflict, parenting, and family therapy. I also enjoy my clinical work with veterans, people of color, and faith-based if requested by the client. I am always open to learning more, especially about Autism, and therapeutic techniques that will contribute toward my clients’ personal & clinical growth.
COUNSELING APPROACHES
I work from a client-centered approach and use interventions that are to the benefits of the clients. Some of which are Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to name a few. My goal has always been to do what works best for my client(s) because each one of you matters and it is your journey. I am here to guide, challenge and assist with that personal growth. I hope that once you start therapy, you leave each session feeling empowered, more self-aware, and learning tools to resolve life challenges.

Our past interactions with dysfunctional families sometimes can affect our behavior.
