ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Caitlin Searl. I am originally from Philadelphia, PA, and have lived in Sanford, NC, since 2022. I received my master’s degree in social work (MSW) from the University of Oklahoma and have an LCSWA license from the State of North Carolina.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from the University of Tampa and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus. I enjoy exploring Raleigh and surrounding areas with my husband during my free time. Visiting new restaurants and cafes, as well as hiking, are things I love to do.
EXPERTISE
Before starting my career in clinical social work, I served in the United States Air Force in Spain and Germany. I have experience with military community outreach and awareness, in which I helped support and assist veterans struggling with loneliness, isolation, employment, and mental health.
Now, I see clients that range in age from 10 to 75. I have worked with children, teens, adults, veterans, and LGBTQ+ population in a broad range of areas, including academic or work problems, self-esteem, stress management, ADD/ADHD, life transitions, trauma, depression, anxiety, couples & marital problems.
COUNSELING APPROACHES
In my counseling approach, I put an emphasis on creating a warm, welcoming environment that allows us to build a trusting relationship. I encourage a collaborative therapeutic method to support overcoming challenges, changes, or discomfort within your life journey. To suit your individual needs, I will utilize a variety of therapy approaches and modalities, including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), motivational interviewing, solution-focused and strengths-based practices, mindfulness practices, and trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing). The first steps of stepping out of our comfort zones lead us to achieve wellness and stability.
