ABOUT ME
Hello! I grew up in New Castle, Pennsylvania, and later moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, in 1999, where I spent the majority of my adult life. I've been happily married for 15 years and am blessed with two wonderful daughters, Kaylee (14) and Tiffanie (12). They are my motivation and drive for positively impacting people's lives. My educational journey began at Penn State
University in University Park, Pennsylvania, where I earned my B.S. degree in Microbiology. Subsequently, I pursued a dual MBA in 2006, specializing in Healthcare Management
and Marketing. Currently, I'm pursuing a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University.
EXPERTISE
Despite my successful academic and professional pursuits, my life took a turn when I battled kidney cancer and leukemia. This experience redirected my career aspirations, leading me away from the hospital lab setting I had initially thrived. Inspired by my experiences and a lifelong passion for helping others, I set my sights on a career in the helping professions, particularly in healthcare. My academic background includes a minor in psychology during my undergraduate years. I also volunteered for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness).
COUNSELING APPROACHES
My goal is to integrate my scientific knowledge with therapeutic skills to support individuals facing various challenges. While my long-term ambition is to specialize in working with children and adolescents, my current focus is on gaining diverse experience during my internship. I aim to learn about different therapeutic approaches and work with individuals, groups, and families dealing with a wide range of issues.
