ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Lisa (she/her/hers) and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA) in North Carolina.
I am originally from Cincinnati, Ohio and relocated to Raleigh in late 2019. In my spare time I enjoy reading, music, being outside in the sunshine, and spending time with my husband, two cats, and our friends and families.
EXPERTISE
I earned my Masters in Social Work from Winthrop University in 2023. Currently, I’m working towards becoming a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and a National Provider of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to treat trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
I have experience working with individuals from across the lifespan. I have worked with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, PTSD/trauma symptoms, disordered eating, stress, and life transitions. My experience includes inpatient hospitalization with children and individuals through private practice.
COUNSELING APPROACHES
I work with my clients from a strengths based and client centered holistic focus. Each person is the expert of their unique experience and I believe in meeting my clients where they are and looking at all aspects of life. I bring forward approaches that are shown to help with a client’s specific needs and goals. We will work together to determine your goals, and celebrate your successes along the way, no matter how small they seem.
Treatment approaches I use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), mindfulness-based, independent work, and more. I also offer the option to take our sessions outside through Walk & Talk sessions so we can enjoy the weather, when it permits, during our time.
My therapy style is one that finds a balance between connecting as humans and maintaining professional boundaries with my clients. I believe having a comfortable and safe environment provides the space for growth.

Nearly everyone claims like they belong to a dysfunctional family. We also blame our families for our present troubles to the degree that we are not responsible for our actions. Our past interactions with dysfunctional families sometimes can affect our behavior.
