ABOUT ME
Hello, my name is Nicole (she/her). I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am originally from Colorado and moved to North Carolina in June of 2024 (Let me know if you have any coffee shop or hiking recs!). I received my Master's in Social Work from the University of Denver in 2019, and practiced as a clinical social worker in Emergency Medicine for about 4 years before transitioning to outpatient therapy setting. When not working with clients, I enjoy hiking with my dog, exploring quaint bookshops, or practicing yoga.
EXPERTISE
I work with teens, adults and seniors, who are experiencing life transitions, relationship distress, chronic illness, and grief and loss. I am passionate about honoring memories, creating new meaning, and establishing positive change. I am familiar with treating disorders such as depression, anxiety, acute PTSD, and the unique impact of Narcissistic or emotional Abuse in interpersonal relationships.
COUNSELING APPROACHES
I utilize a whole-person approach, meaning, I believe mental health is intimately connected with other aspects of your life. My therapeutic philosophy is rooted in empowerment, acceptance, and the healing power of laughter. I support clients as they reclaim their truest selves by embracing vulnerability and challenging the limiting stories or intrusive thoughts that have gotten in the way of everyday life.
